The Chicago Auto Show opens this to the public Saturday, February 13. At a press conference this morning, Kia Motors rocked the crowd with three important introductions: the updated Optima Hybrid, the all-new Optima Hybrid Plug in and the global debut of the Kia Niro, Hybrid Utility Vehicle (HUV).

The 2017 Niro is a key component to Kia’s Green Car Roadmap. The Niro is the first Kia model to be based on its dedicated eco-car platform. Kia is investing $10B in its green car lineup. It plans to manufacture eleven models by 2020 and 20 models over the next five years blending design, technology, quality, value and fuel efficiency.
“The Niro hits the sweet spot by offering the best combination of outstanding mpg, an engaging experience, utility and most importantly, a stunning design that doesn’t shout “hybrid”, said Orth Hedrick, Vice President of Product Planning.
The 2017 Optima Hybrid has improved interior and exterior styling and fuel efficiency and the 2017 Optima Plug-In Hybrid boasts an industry leading 600 mile range.
All three vehicles will be available in showrooms later this year.
