Kia Sedona Wins Minivan Segment
The Sedona has become a bona fide hit for Kia. Totally redesigned for the 2015 model year, the Sedona has upended the staid minivan segment. Since its debut, the Sedona has impressed both consumers and automotive experts and earned numerous industry awards.
The Kia Sedona has topped its rivals: the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country and Nissan Quest.
This month, Cars.com and PBS’ MotorWeek conducted a multi-day detailed analysis and comparison of minivans and dubbed the Sedona, Ultimate Minivan Challenge Winner. “The all-new Kia Sedona is a champion of quality and refinement,” said Patrick Olsen, Cars.com editor-in-chief. “A great ride combined with a quiet cabin and numerous innovative features made the Sedona an obvious selection as the ultimate minivan.”
When Motor Trend conducted its “Big Test” of minivans earlier this year, it also placed the Sedona at the top of the competition. “Simply put, the Kia blew the judges away with the amount of technology and content it offers. “
In addition, it has earned the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Award, was named to Ward’s 10 Best Interiors List among all vehicles and picked by Autobytel as the 2015 Van/Minivan of the Year.
The Sedona was designed for luxury and comfort. It’s engineered with advanced technology features. Most importantly, it offers unparalleled safety, earning the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration’s (NHSTA) 5-star Safety Rating and a Top Safety Pick Award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), given only to a select group of vehicles with superior crash protection. The Sedona’s standard safety features include:
• Advanced Airbag System
• Electronic Stability Control
• Traction Control System
• Brake Assist System
• Electronic Brake Force Distribution
• Corning Brake Control
• Hill-start Assist Control
“The fully reimagined Sedona has been a tremendous success for the Kia brand, connecting on multiple levels with families and active lifestyle consumers alike,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning, Kia Motors America (KMA). “Its combination of bold design, advanced safety features and upscale cabin have resulted in a high level of appeal and desirability. Sedona is clearly redefining and revolutionizing the minivan category as a whole.”
