You can maintain optimal vehicle performance, as well as, extend the life of the mechanical components by of your vehicle. These services are either manufacturer required or dealer recommended at high mileage intervals.

Every vehicle is different and service intervals may be impacted by driving habits and environmental conditions. Your Owner’s Manual and your Service Consultant can provide guidance on when you should have these services performed.

air conditioning

Air Conditioning Tune-up

No one wants to get caught in Charleston’s heat without air conditioning which means the best time to get this service is before the heat of the summer hits full steam. Kia Country’s Air Conditioning Tune-up ensures that your system is functioning optimally. The cabin filter will be replaced, the cooling temperature will be checked and up to 1lb of freon will be added. Recommended every 30K miles.

Fuel System Service

A fuel system service will help to maximize engine performance and fuel efficiency. Over time, carbon can build up in the injectors, the bottom of the valves and the top of pistons. The cleaning is a three-step process. First, we use air pressure which slowly pushes cleaner through the injectors to soften carbon build up which allows it to burn off through the exhaust system. Secondly, the throttle body is manually cleaned a wire brush and finally, an additive is mixed with the gasoline. Recommended every 30K miles.

Cooling System Fluid Exchange

Over time, antifreeze, the fluid that runs through your cooling system breaks down and causes corrosion on metal components. A complete system fluid exchange means that all fluid is removed from the engine block, heater core and radiator and then replaced. Many shops will perform a drain and fill of radiator fluid which mixes old with new fluid. We do not recommend this service. Recommended every 60K miles.

Transmission Service

Transmission fluid keeps the gears spinning correctly. Transmission fluid is a nice red color. As it ages, it turns brown and can take on a burnt odor. If your transmission fluid is breaking down, you may notice some hesitation between gear shifts. Recommended 60-100k miles depending on year of vehicle. Newer vehicles are engineered to 100k mile intervals.

Kia Country serves the Greater Charleston, SC area. If you live outside our region, please contact your local Kia dealership or Kia Motors America.
