New Tires and Wheel Alignment
We recommend getting a wheel alignment at the same time purchase new tires. Proper alignment will help to prevent premature wear. It can also help extend the life of your tires, result in improved fuel economy and steering response.
There are a few things that are done during the wheel alignment process:
- If the toe is out on a vehicle it could pull to the left or right. The tire angle is measured left to right and adjusted if needed
- If the caster and camber not within specifications, you could get uneven tire wear
- Alignment problems are caused by daily driving. Blame potholes, bumps, poorly paved roads or hitting an object. In short, if you drive you will likely need an alignment at some point. We recommend having it checked every year or 15,000-18,000 miles.
A tire balance is also performed when you have new tires installed, but it has nothing to do with alignment.
Take advantage of our Pothole Special this month and save $30 on tire rotation, balance, and alignment. If you are not purchasing tires and need just an alignment it is $79.95.
