Snapshot Employee Spotlight: December 2023

Here at Kia Country of Charleston, we have an incredible team of sales, service, and other staff. Diverse backgrounds and knowledge bases make for a staff that can assist any customer who walks into our doors. Today, we’re taking a look at what makes two sales staff members unique in the automotive industry.

What’s your name and job title?

My name is William Hutchinson and I am one of the sales representatives here at Kia Country of Charleston.

How long have you been in the auto industry?

I’ve been in the business going on 6 years, Happy Anniversary to me! This month, I’ve been here for 6 years.

How did you originally get into the auto industry?

I got in here because I saw an opportunity on Craigslist, believe it or not. That’s how long ago it was! I figured I like talking to people and helping people out, so here I am!

What was your first car, and what is your dream car?

My first car was a 2007 Hyundai Accent when they were cool, nothing boring! And my dream car would be a Presige Telluride, a Mac Daddy Telluride with black on black! Why not???

Davis

What’s your name and job title?

My name is Davis Smith and I am a Sales Associate/Product Specialist here at Kia Country of Charleston.

How long have you been in the auto industry?

I started in 2017, truly November of ’16. So a solid 3 years in the “old school way” and then 3 years in the “Covid way.” So 6 years in total.

 How did you originally get into the auto industry?

Believe it or not, I worked at the Cassique Kiawah Island Golf Club and the general manager of a Toyota dealership was a member. He asked me, “Have you ever sold cars?” and I said “never.” He said if you’ve got a good personality, if you can talk to people, give it a try, why not?

What was your first car, and what is your dream car?

My first car was a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. And my dream car would be a Stinger GT-2. Everybody is going to say the Telluride. The Telluride is a great size. But I’m not an SUV guy.
