Tire Rotation, Balance & Alignment

Tire rotation, balance, and alignment are important to vehicle maintenance and performance. We routinely check your tire tread depth as part of our multi-point inspection on every service visit, but balancing and alignment require more.

Tire Rotation

Front tires generate more friction and therefore can wear more quickly. Rotating your tires, will prevent premature wear and help to maintain proper alignment. We recommend that you rotate your tires every other oil change or 10,000 miles.

Tire Balancing

Potholes and other negative road conditions can disrupt the balance of your tires. Think of tire balancing as a wheel-tire tune-up. Balancing equalizes weight and eliminates uneven points in your tires to deliver a smoother ride and increases tire longevity. It will also protect your rims. If your vehicle shakes or vibrates as you drive, you likely need balancing.

Tire Alignment

If your vehicle is drifting to either side, you may need an alignment. A four-wheel alignment adjusts the wheels and tires in relation to the axis of your vehicle. The tire angle is measured left to right and adjusted if needed. If the caster and camber are not within specifications, it could cause uneven tire wear. Alignment issues are caused by potholes, poor road conditions, or hitting an object. We recommend having an alignment check performed every year or 15,000 miles.
