The event is part of World Spay Day, an international campaign of The Humane Society of the United States, Humane Society International, and Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association.

Spay or Neuter procedures at Charleston Animal Society cost between $60-$100. Kia Country of Charleston is sponsoring this promotion by offering free surgeries to the first 25 online registrants, and 25% discounts to all others. Private clinics and animal hospitals can charge from $200 to well over $700 depending on the weight and age of your pet. Charleston Animal Society has 4 veterinarians who specialize in Spay-Neuter procedures, and conduct 12,000 procedures each year, more than any other organization in South Carolina. Charleston Animal Society is committed to ending companion animal overpopulation by providing high quality, high volume, spay and neuter services. They use the highest standards to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet.

Why spay or neuter? Quite simply, there are too many animals that are without a home. Last year Charleston Animal Society cared for more than 18,000 animals. Spaying and neutering is the only 100% proven way to reduce these numbers and save animals’ lives. Help stem the tide of overpopulation by having your pet spayed or neutered!
