The compact SUV category is a packed field, but the 2023 Kia Sportage tops the segment nabbing the coveted Utility Vehicle of the Year in the 2023 AutoGuide Awards.

The 2023 Sportage underwent a significant change. Developed as part of Kia’s new global brand transformation, “Movement that Inspires,” the 2023 Sportage subcompact SUV delivers more for today’s savvy and adventurous consumers with a more capable trim level (X-Pro) and Sportage Hybrid and Sportage Plug-In Hybrid variants. The Sportage starts at $26,290 and is available in seven trim levels.

The 2023 Sportage offers best-in-class cargo room, powerful engine options, and a premium interior. Choose from gas, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid models.

• Gas: 187 horsepower, 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy with 25-28 MPG combined.
• Hybrid: 227 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is 38-43 MPG combined.
• Plug-In Hybrid 261 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. Fuel economy with 84 MPG combined.
