Car Flood Damage Continues to Dominate Business
Over the past two weeks, we have been reminded daily of the devastation the recent, record floods had on our community. The storm and flood damage affected both our staff and customers and has been dominating business. Many customers are visiting us for flood restoration service and repairs and some require new vehicles.
It is estimated that as many as 12,000 cars were damaged or destroyed. In a recent interview with the Post and Courier, the South Carolina Insurance Chief estimated that car damages statewide may amount to $100M.
Roughly half of the cars brought into our Service Department have been totaled. Last week, we had insurance adjusters on site all week. This week, adjusters have started sending cars right to the landfill due to the volume and demand. Driving through flood waters can be catastrophic and can cause engine damage. If your car was parked in water, the damage is likely to be reversible. Read our most recent blog to see what symptoms are perfectly normal after such heavy rain and what should be a cause for concern.
We are able to repair and restore many flood damaged cars. We work with trusted partners such as Fabric Tech and Biosweep on carpet and upholstery cleaning and odor elimination. Both companies provide services our customers onsite.
We have been pleased to help customers deal with flood issues in a variety of ways:
• Fielding questions
• Helping to navigate insurance claims
• Working with insurance adjusters
• Performing complimentary multi-point inspections
• Assisting with transitions to new vehicles
